From a Test-tube Baby Centre, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, 40 women undergoing infertility treatment were screened for depression and well-being using Case Study Schedule (2011), Beck Depression Inventory (Beck, 1971) and Well-Being Index (WHO, 1998). Out of that, 35 women with moderate to severe depression and worst well-being were chosen to serve as the sample, by Purposive Sampling Method. Psychological intervention involving Relaxation Training coupled with Autosuggestions and Cognitive Restructuring (Natesan, 2004) and Visualization (White, 2004) were administered on the all subjects for six sessions. After psychological intervention, they were re-assessed for depression and well-being using Case Study Reassessment Schedule (2011), Beck Depression Inventory and Well-Being Index. Results revealed that the mean differences in depression and wellbeing before and after psychological intervention were statistically significant.Keywords

Teaching is a complex profession. Depending on the type of college or university, teachers may have many responsibilities such as fulfilling teaching and research requirements at research colleges and universities. Personality characteristics of an individual to a large extent are responsible for appraising a situation as stressful. Several studies have clearly indicated that certain personality types are stress prone. Though personality traits are fairly constant in an adult, awareness of one's stress level and the personality type can help the individual consciously mobilize coping strategies and manage the stress well. Present study was conducted to examine relationship between stress and personality of college teachers. Data were collected from 300 college teachers in six institutions. The results of correlation showed that the stress levels and personality types of the sample are independent of each other. It could be inferred that, for the present sample of college teachers, the personality types are fairly stable, not depending on their stress levels. This supports the fact that personality traits are more enduring, independent of the situational stressors.Full Text

From a hospital in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, 32 patients with renal failure, who had just started dialysis, were selected by Purposive Sampling method. There were 20 male and 12 female in the age range of 28-55 years. The entire sample was assessed using Case Study Schedule and BDI (Beck, 1971). A brief tailor-made modular psychological intervention was administered on the entire sample individually for 8 sessions, 4 sessions before dialysis and 4 sessions after dialysis. They were re-assessed using the same tools soon after 8 sessions of psychological intervention (Assessment II). The subjects practiced the psychological intervention using Relaxation Therapy CD. After 4 months, a follow up assessment, Assessment III was done using the same tools with Case Study Re-assessment Schedule. Only 30 subjects were available for Assessment III as one had passed away and one was not available after transplantation. Though the subjects had 'Moderate to Severe' depression in all the 3 assessments, the differences in mean BDI scores of the subjects (Assessment 1=28.26, Assessment 11=23.62 and Assessment 111=20.56) were statistically significant, indicating a significant reduction in depression.Keywords

Recently, there has been a lot of marketing research done to gauge the various differences between the way males and females perceive advertising, be it in print advertising or in mass media ads. In the following paper, we attempt to understand how gender stereotyping in advertising affects its intended audience in terms of gender. Also, we will tap into ads that use humor against those which are of a more serious nature and differentiate between the way the communication is perceived and accepted by males and females, and how they respond to it, and ultimately, whether a change in this cycle can help the advertising industry and provide for a better means of communication between companies and consumers today.Keywords

Purpose: Marketing function in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) is gaining popularity as it integrates institution's marketing and communication goals with its strategic and academic goals. The aim of this paper is to review current trends in marketing of HEIs, the role of curriculum redesign as a marketing cue and its effect on sustainability of the HEI.
Methodology: An integrative literature review on HEIs was carried out with an objective of establishing the linkages between redesigning curriculum and attaining sustainability. To ensure credibility and validity of the research findings, triangulation method using both narrative and bibliometric process of literature review was followed. Two hundred and thirty-two papers were extracted from Scopus database and studied using Social Network Analysis (SNA) and narrative literature review to cull insights.
Findings: Entrepreneurship skills, leadership skills, multi-tasking and trouble shooting skills, and use of social media with networking skills were identified as the four key skill that students demand from any higher education program. To bridge the demand supply gap and to attain sustainability, HEIs are redesigning their curriculum based on two major dimensions which are collaborative learning and digital innovation.
Research Limitations: Since the study primarily focuses on attaining sustainability through curriculum redesigning, other factors related to processes or human resources have been kept outside the purview of the present research. Due to paucity of time and resource an empirical analysis could not be carried out and kept for future study.
